Message from the Editor
Good afternoon everyone. This week, the Bulletin will be brief. There are a few things to mention:
A story on last Saturday evening's Changeover is already up, thanks to Karin. Refer below.
I have added some photos to the story but I have also created an album with many more here.
This week's meeting will be at Aila Cafe as we have two weeks of mid year break at Holmsglen - thus Cilantro is closed. It is absolutely vital that you register for this meeting. As you would understand the venue, (Aila Cafe), need advance notice of numbers and food requirements. This need to be done AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Linda need to advise Aila by tomorrow (Tuesday) midday.
USE THIS LINK TO REGISTER - HEREIf you are still unsure of how to do this, I refer you to instructions here.
I would like to add my personal congratulations and thanks to Linda O'Brien who, with some help from husband Peter, Karin and Gary, put together a most successful evening. The venue was great and the tables looked fantastic - all Linda's work. Refer pic above.
A reminder that Karin has put together the Club's Annual Report. It was attached to her email of Saturday last but can be downloaded here. Congratulations Karin, great effort.
Bulletin Editor, Ian Ballantine

At the Club's recent Changeover evening a number of members were awarded Paul Harris Fellows in recognition of their service to the Club and Rotary International. For newer members, here is an explanation, (same as that given on Saturday evening).
A PAUL HARRIS FELLOW is a RECOGNITION that was introduced in 1957 in honour of Paul Harris who founded Rotary in 1905.
It was established to express appreciation for a contribution to the humanitarian and educational programs of the Rotary Foundation.
BMC Changeover on Saturday 28/6 at the Sandy at Sandringham Football Club was a wonderful evening for all who attended. A night of relaxed conviviality with the formalities of changeover handled with ease in the capable hands of MC Ron Brownlees. This was a night of the changing of the guard to witness the end of Tim Lynch's term as president and welcome in the new term for Grant Perry.

Well here we are - President Tim's last meeting presiding as President before the club Changeover on Saturday 28/6. And very fittingly, incoming President Grant Perry chaired today's meeting. Charles joined via Zoom, and Gary Ramage was a guest.
Some members may be aware that there has been a very late appointment of the Rotary International President for 2025-26.
It was announced on June 9, 2025, that the then Rotary International President-elect Mário César Martins de Camargo had resigned.
In a letter to RI President Stephanie A. Urchick on 8 June, he said that personal reasons and business obligations prompted his decision. In a later message, de Camargo indicated that he will continue to be an active Rotary member and to serve his community. A Rotary member since 1980, de Camargo was selected to be the 2025-26 RI president by the Nominating Committee for President in August 2023. Full story of the announcement here.
In an announcement made on June 14, 2025, we learned that Francesco Arezzo of Italy (pictured at right) would be International President for the 2025-26 year.
President Tim chaired today's club meeting at Cilantro. Charles joined via Zoom and Gary Ramage attended as a guest.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
RDA - Jo Impey spoke of her visit to Riding for the Disabled and displayed photos of the horse that was part funded through a recent BMC club donation. The new horse is 13 hands, seems very docile which is ideal and should provide plenty of riding years well into the future.
Club Changeover - President Tim reminded everyone of the club changeover meeting on Saturday 28/6, and urges club members to RSVP as soon as possible to assist with finalising catering requirements.
During the month of May, one of our newer members was travelling in the northern rivers region of New South Wales and found himself visiting a local Rotray Club.
Here is his report and a few pics.
I contacted Larry from the local club in Shell Harbour and let him know that I was in Shell Harbour and am a member from Melbourne Rotary Club and would like to meet their team of which he then invited me to their meeting at their venue Warila Bowls & Recreation Club where after intro to team presented them with our Banner , after meeting we all got together for dinner.
I was chatting to one of their members at dinner to Ray , Larry. And Peter and was invited to assist in sausage sandwiches at Council chambers in the morning where kids and family were invited from the community – per pics and we make a lot and it went well.
This article is intended to help members register themselves and/or a guest to a Club event. Note, your can also register your intention NOT to attend.

Note from the Editor re Images and Events
A point regarding the submission of images for the Bulletin and Website: Members are reminded that images have to meet a minimum size requirement, as has been specified for some time in the section at the bottom of this Bulletin. 820 pixels is the minimum size required with larger being better as this allows for cropping. The submission of images via MMS is NOT preferred as they are too small and of inferior quality. Email or Whatsapp is far superior.
Would any member like to take responsibility for the updating of the Club's Event Calendar? I have created a page of instructions here so it is very easy to take over.
Thank you, Ian Ballantine
I remind members that you are responsible for the information contained in the Club's database. This includes, birthdays, phone numbers, addresses etc etc. Even your own photo. You maintain this via this link.
Additionally, member's birthdays and anniversaries will no longer be listed in the Club Bulletin. This is to protect the privacy of members. This information is still available to members here.
Ian Ballantine
A reminder to members to keep checking the calendar of upcoming events for evening and perhaps, one day, daytime events.
Thank you for being a subscriber to our Weekly Club Bulletin. I try to have it published each week by Tuesday morning.
If you would like to have something included please contact me at editor@rotarybmc.org.au and attach, as separate files, the words and any images (jpg files are fine, minimum width 820 pixels). Please DO NOT send information as pdf files.
Ian Ballantine, Editor.
