Our speaker will be Michal- the service delivery director at Emerge ABOUT EMERGE (website) Emerge supports women and children who have experienced family violence, empowering them to rebuild their lives. Over the past 40 years, we have empowered thousands of women to rebuild their lives by providing them with a safe refuge and practical programs. We advocate for increased funding for short, medium and long-term crisis and affordable housing, making an impact on behalf of the community we work with and for. Many of the women and children we support are highly disadvantaged, and come from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) backgrounds. We work from a strong evidence-base to develop innovative solutions, which assists Victoria as being recognised as a national leader in family violence and housing programs. Emerge is the first of 13 family violence services chosen by the Victorian Government to fund the building of a new refuge centre and to become a fully funded 24/7 early intervention and crisis centre. Something new and exciting for ALL Rotarians!! We have a brand-new District Assembly over two weekends. It will feature different segments and new facilitators. So, if you want to learn more about Rotary whether you’re a President Elect, Secretary or interested member, this on-line assembly is for you. We will run it over two weekends, Saturday 17th May and Saturday 24th May. The sessions will run for 45 mins and commence on the hour. It is open to all members. All sessions will be online.
