Message from our President
Covid is certainly going to be with us for some time yet as we have been reminded of again with this week's news of some new community transmissions. We have all spoken about and heard about the mental health issues that have been exacerbated with the pandemic. Our guest speaker this week is David Burt from SALT (Sport and Life Training) who will be addressing this pressing problem.
I'd just like to remind members of a few events coming up which I encourage you all to consider attending. Number 1 most important is the Club's Changeover dinner on Saturday June 19. President Elect Helen Nodrum has been doing a great job putting this together and she promises it will be a great night. Obviously we were unable to hold this event last year so it's great that we get to do it this year (fingers crossed!). All the details are here.
District Changeover is the following week on the 26th and I am aware there is at least one table of our club members going. Numbers for this event are limited so if you are planning on going, speak to Helen. Details here.
District Assembly continues this week - not too late to register, details here. See you in the morning on Zoom at 7.30 although I know Ian kicks off the meeting at 7.15. Meeting details here.
Regards,
Geoff Gledhill

Our Club meets weekly. It can either be a Zoom meeting, or an "in person" meeting.
Please check details of each week's meeting here or elsewhere in this Bulletin to confirm venue. You are very welcome to join us.
A number of members joined quite a number of Terry Kane's other friends to help her celebrate a significant birthday she was unable to celebrate last year.
There were Peter Nolan, John and Margaret Mason, Linda and Peter O'Brian and Ian Ballantine and Helen.
The event was held in Tullamarine and there was in excess of 350 people!
In 2007, Agnes Kiraithe was invited to speak at the Rotary Club of Muthaiga, in Nairobi. At the time, Kiraithe was the chief administrator of what is now the Kenya Children’s Home, and she had come to talk about the organization, which takes in orphaned children from around the city. After her presentation, she looked around the club.
At our Club meeting this week our special guest was District 9810 Governor, Alma Reynolds. Ian Ballantine, chair for the morning, welcomed DG Alma Reynolds and members
The District Training Assembly is an annual event aimed at informing club office bearers of the latest developments in Rotary in order to better prepare for their role. It’s not just for new office bearers. It’s an opportunity for the more experienced Rotarians to share their experience in a mutually supportive learning environment, aimed at strengthening all our clubs. It’s also a great opportunity for newer Rotarians to network and learn more about the “bigger picture” of Rotary and what happens beyond their club.
On behalf of District Governor Elect Dr Daryl Moran, PDG Tony Monley OAM, D9810 Learning & Development Chair, invites all members of our District to register for one or more sessions in this year’s District Training Assembly.
