Message from our President
It was wonderful to hear from Ian Ballantine, District Governor Elect a member from our Club talk so enthusiastically about his training at the International District Assembly plus learn that the incoming theme will be “Create Hope in the World”
I was reminded by Ian that Rotary is a world- wide organisation, an organisation that is capable, more than any other charitable organisation of making a difference in the world, to those this fortunate than our selves.
Remembering that Rotary is based upon the idea that there is a broad understanding of agreement between men and women around the world of different beliefs and backgrounds. Around the world we all work toward a common goal which makes those differences come together into “service above self”.
That power is clearly demonstrated in by how successful our effort, as Rotarians has been in assisting the World Health Authority in the fight to eradicate polio.
Within our own club through the International Committee, we have offered relief for those in extreme circumstances over the many years since our charter. We can be justifiable proud that we have put the idea of service into practice.
How lucky are we that we have the means to do this through our Market.
On another note, thank you to Linda and Peter O’Brien for hosting a wonderful fellowship afternoon last Sunday and to those who brought along a food to share, thank you. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and for those who didn’t come you missed a good show.
This week we will have visitors and hear from Calvary Care, Marriot Services and the SES.
Just “imagine” what we could contribute to our community and the world with more members.
Yours in Rotary
Glenda
‘Inspire Rotary’ is a fresh way to invigorate and inspire Rotarians. A unique training session modeled on the successful RYLA leadership seminar.
It will provide Rotarians invaluable leadership training and tools to create positive effective teams as well as nurture and create sustainable connections within our clubs, with Rotaract and our community.

A very pleasant time was had by all. A great variety of delicious food was provided courtesy of Linda and a number of members. We all enjoyed being served by Linda and Peter's charming granddaughter, Georgia.
Thnak you so much Linda and Peter for your generous hospitality.
Chairperson: Faye Weeks Speaker: 9810 District Governor Elect Ian Ballantine Ian arrived wearing a very colourful shirt of an Indigenous design which he went on to explain was worn by all Australian and New Zealand incoming District Governors and partners at the International Assembly held at Shingle Creek Hotel, in Florida USA.
After discovering new perspectives and being inspired by new ideas at the 2022 Rotary International Convention, attendees and virtual participants are looking ahead to next year's gathering in Melbourne, the sparkling second city of Australia.
