Message from our President
From the Desk of President Margaret
Last week I wrote on reflection and introspection. I am pleased to report that I have had feedback from some members, which gave me food for thought.
This week, I would like us to “Imagine Rotary”; this is the Rotary theme for 2022/2023. Let us imagine what The Rotary Club of Bentleigh Moorabbin Central can be like. We are a vibrant club where members get on well and work well together to make a difference, particularly in our local community. However, there is always room for improvement and many ways we can make our club one where all members can be proud of and introduce new members to so as to enable us to grow.
We are all human, and in part, our life experiences have made us what we are. Some of us have ideas for change, many of us embrace change but there may be a few of us who would want to continue doing what we have always done. I welcome suggestions on how we can improve, do things differently, and/or inject enthusiasm in what we do. I would particularly welcome members who are prepared to not only make suggestions, but also to take ownership of those suggestions and take them through to fruition. This is a challenge to all members. Let us imagine that RCBMC will grow vibrancy and relevance to the community, and a shining light within the Rotary family and in the community.
Thanks everyone
With every best wishes
President Margaret Mason

The Rotary Foundation and Rotary clubs around the world have hurried to provide funds, supplies, and services to Ukrainians displaced by the war.
The Rotary Foundation has raised more than $15 million in contributions that are already helping provide people in Ukraine with essential items such as water, food, shelter, medicine, and clothing. Donations made to the Disaster Response Fund after 30 April will be available to all communities around the world that need assistance recovering from disasters.
After discovering new perspectives and being inspired by new ideas at the 2022 Rotary International Convention, attendees and virtual participants are looking ahead to next year's gathering in Melbourne, the sparkling second city of Australia.

Market Report - windy and cool. Like a desert out there with only about 30% occupancy of site. Much feedback regarding disappointment with stall holders with poor attendance at Market. Many understand weather has been major influence, but it is clear to many that Market Management is less than satisfactory to support their initiatives. Some were advised steps are being taken to “lift the game”.
