Message from our President
From the Desk of President Margaret
I attended the District DG and Presidents meeting on 2nd September. The following are items of interest and action for all clubs and members.
PDG David Tolstrup spoke on ‘Regionalisation’ and advised that voting will commence from 15th September. All clubs are encouraged to vote, as a missing vote will be considered a NO vote. Each club has one vote and it requires 60% of YES votes for all Clubs for the pilot programme to proceed.
Arrangements have been made for all club members to vote at our meetings on 7th and 14th September. As President I will then vote on behalf of the club, based on member's votes received.
Gus Rozycki from the RC of Belgrave spoke on Business Community Connections. This is an Innovative Social Business Network for all Rotarians to get to know each other. It is a multi-club project for Rotarians working together for the benefits of ‘Service Above Self’. Remember that Paul Harris established Rotary as an avenue for business
and professional people to network. All you need to do if you would like to register your business in this project is to email your business card to Gus. Also you can get in touch with him for further information.

Another exciting programme introduced by Peter Behm, who is the Image and Communications Chair in District 9810 is the ‘Incentive Awards Programme’. In essence, this means that the club will be awarded points for various activities they undertake. The points will go towards rewards such as hoodies or polo T-shirts for all members of the club. There will also be minor prizes such as Rotary caps, mugs and pens. Points can be earned by induction of new members, registering for the District conference at attending a District seminar as well as members visiting other clubs and clubs inviting District Chairs to speak at their club meetings. I will advise on the details of the award points as soon as they are available on the District website.
We can therefore ‘IMAGINE ROTARY’ and look forward to an exciting and interesting year.
Thanks everyone
With every best wishes
President Margaret Mason
