Message from our President
Just a quick reminder this week of events coming up soon that it would be great to get behind. At a District level, there is the Annual Conference this weekend. District Training Assembly commences 23rd May. Unfortunately, the “Picnic in the Park” event has been cancelled - details in the latest "Open Doors".
Member Geoff Gartly has organised a social event for members and friends later in May as well. Don't forget to check out all upcoming events on the Club website here.
Following our speaker tomorrow I’m going to be asking members what they would like to see us do as a club so have your ideas at the ready. See you tomorrow on Zoom at 7.30am.
Regards,
Geoff Gledhill
Meeting this week:
This week will be a Zoom Meeting details here. Our speaker is Harry Moffitt, author of "Eleven Bats" a story of combat, cricket and the SAS. More info here.

Unfortunatley, this event has been cancelled - refer latest edition of "open Doors".
Our Club meets weekly. It can either be a Zoom meeting, or an "in person" meeting.
Please check details of each week's meeting here or elsewhere in this Bulletin to confirm venue. You are very welcome to join us.
As COVID-19 vaccinations are administered around the globe, you’ve probably seen your social media feeds fill up with joyful vaccine selfies and excited appointment updates. Chances are, you also have someone in your life who’s skeptical. Most of us do — and that has public health officials concerned.
This morning's guest speaker was Nicole Lewis Jacobs, the "Soup Angel"
We met at Cilantro for the first time since COVID 19 and the Currawongs flew out of the gum trees greeting with their distinctive beautiful musical call. Even better, Tony and Sossi greeted us with our favourite coffee, we felt as if we had come home. We had! As we meet at 7:00 am we discovered we were the first club in Australia to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Rotary in our beautiful country.
This Wednesday was a most glorious morning with the sun shining after a few really chilly and wet days. The birds were chirping and our Guest Speaker, Anne Coughlan from Community Information and Support Services was cheerfully waiting to do her presentation. Karin was Chairperson and invited us to stand for a minute silence in honor of Prince Philip who sadly passed away last Friday.
The District Training Assembly is an annual event aimed at informing club office bearers of the latest developments in Rotary in order to better prepare for their role. It’s not just for new office bearers. It’s an opportunity for the more experienced Rotarians to share their experience in a mutually supportive learning environment, aimed at strengthening all our clubs. It’s also a great opportunity for newer Rotarians to network and learn more about the “bigger picture” of Rotary and what happens beyond their club.
On behalf of District Governor Elect Dr Daryl Moran, PDG Tony Monley OAM, D9810 Learning & Development Chair, invites all members of our District to register for one or more sessions in this year’s District Training Assembly.
Multi-District conference “Virtual Victoria” will be happening on Saturday and Sunday 1 and 2 May. Registration will be free and the booking site will open soon – you’ll be notified.
