Message from our President - Ron's Ramblings

Our meeting last week gave members an important insight into the value of quick action when a someone collapses and is having a possible heart attack. It was particularly interesting to  note that the action taken first 4 minutes were so important to improving the outcome of someone suffering a heart attack and the critical use of external cardiac massage or a defibrillator.
This weeks speaker is James Grant who will be speaking about his interesting life and his role in finding jobs for long term unemployed people.
This week I will be asking for volunteers to help with our bar-b-que at Beaumaris tennis Club to support Brighton and Brighton north Rotary Clubs in their ‘Big Serve’ tennis tournament on Sunday October 29th.  This is an ideal opportunity to get involved to a hands on project that is different from the market and gives us the opportunity to work with other local rotary clubs. Click on image at right for more info.
Next weeks breakfast meeting has been moved to an evening function at the 50 Acres restaurant at Cheltenham RSL opposite Moorabbin Airport. It will be mainly a social event and a=the opportunity to enjoy a good meal and a chat in a different venue.
The meeting September 27th will be at The Deck in Bay Street Brighton at the normal time of 7.OOam.

Yours in Rotary  ‘Create Hope in The World.’
President Ron

Note from the Editor re Images and Events
A point regarding the submission of images for the Bulletin and Website: Members are reminded that images have to meet a minimum size requirement, as has been specified for some time in the section at the bottom of this Bulletin. 820 pixels is the minimum size required with larger being better as this allows for cropping. The submission of images via MMS is NOT preferred as they are too small and of inferior quality. Email or Whatsapp is preferred.
Would any member like to take responsibility for the updating of the Club's Event Calendar? I have created a page of instructions here so it is very easy to take over.
Thank you, Ian Ballantine
