Message from our President
From the Desk of President Margaret
“The Family of Rotary”
To be a Rotarian is to belong to an International organisation of more than 36,000 clubs in 220 countries/geographic areas.
One of the benefits of being a Rotarian is the fellowship that is shared with Rotarians in the District, the Country and the World.
Enjoying fellowship with other Rotarians should not be confined to just the club one belongs to. Attending Rotary conferences is a stimulating and fun way to experience fellowship with Rotarians from other clubs. The District 9810 conference is one such avenue of sharing fellowship and experiences with others in the family of Rotary. This year, the District conference will be held in March 2023 in Canberra, and will be the last conference to be held interstate.
It would be fantastic if as many members as possible can attend. This conference is also of special significance to our club as our very own Ian Ballantine will be the next (and last) District Governor for District 9810. I am sure that all of you would like to show our support for Ian. We are very proud that in the history of RCBMC, Ian is the only member who will be a District Governor. Another important reason to attend the conference in Canberra will be that the last District conference for District 9810 will be launched. We will want to make this a memorable event in March 2023 as we are going to organise a ‘never to be forgotten’ conference in 2024. Refer here
We are indeed fortunate that the Rotary International conference will be held in Melbourne in May 2023. This gives us the opportunity to participate in the wider family of Rotary without the added expense and time to organise travel overseas. I hope that many of you are seriously considering participating in this International Conference which is to be held at our own doorstep. In attending the conference, we will be enjoying the fellowship and learning from fellow Rotarians worldwide. Let us consider expanding our horizon and learn from Rotarians in other parts of the world. We may also be able to share and teach them at the same time. Refer here
On the issue of fellowship, we are exploring the possibility of hosting a group of Overseas Rotarians for a dinner where we can showcase Australia to our International visitors. Watch this space for more formation as it becomes avaiilable.
Thanks everyone
With every best wishes
President Margaret Mason

No cars in queue. A few enquirers for bookings and people gearing up for the spring weather and increased demand from garden supplies and the increased foot traffic
