Message from our President

At a district level there is a strong desire for clubs to reconnect with past members of Rotary, they actually refer to them as “Alumni”. A number of activities have been proposed which are too many to cover in these few words however I will send out a seperate email details those suggestions. At this point perhaps we could be thinking of people we can invite along to change over and any centenary events we hold either as a club or district. Happy to receive some feedback on this.
Regards,
Geoff Gledhill
Meeting this week:
This week we are still at Virginia Park Cafe. Our speaker is Rotarian Les Marton on the subject of Concorde. Link to event here.
Members are asked to order their breakfasts as soon as they arrive, having found a table.
Also, have a look at the article below on subscribing to our Events Calendar. Have all events update directly to your phone.

An update from Tony Grusd...(on my insistence, IanB)
I left hospital on Friday but not fully recovered.
The infection and fluid still present around my heart sapping pretty much all my energy and I have to return to Cabrini on Thursday for an echo test and who knows what else.
This is a very slow process. It was really great being home for Easter and our kids and grandkids are here from Perth which was a great lift

Club Meeting March 24 2021 Kim Ellis Antarctica
Paul was our Chairperson on this very wet and dark Wednesday morning. At least we are not flooded like the long-suffering people in NSW. Thank goodness. Grant and John M presented us with the Invocation and the Loyal, Royal Toasts. Paul welcomed Suzette, Jo’s friend and colleague and our Guest Speaker Kim Ellis. Pres. Geoff greeted us all and mentioned his opening article in this week’s Bulletin Board dealing with the looking at the mixture of the club and the importance of needing a discussion and the talk of where the club is heading in the future.

Just a reminder to members, the above information regarding birthdays and anniversaries comes directly from each members information contained in the Club Runner (Rotary) database. As I have said before, it is up to each member to check, add or change information in their own profile. As editor, I do not enter this information into this bulletin. It is passed directly from the database.
