Message from our President
“Serve to Change Lives”
“Enhance Participant Engagement”
Our club’s challenges for this Rotary year were directed to four main focus areas.
The first three have been discussed in previous reports being:
Increase our Impact
Expand our Reach
Increase our Ability to Adapt
The fourth challenge being “Enhance our Participant Engagement". So, this then begs the question what is our way forward as we reset as a club post covid?
May I offer a couple of thoughts here.
Firstly, service to be our number one project and primary function. Which then leads to the second objective of adapting what we do so that all members feel valued and have a meaningful opportunity to participate. I would love to see us as a club be prepared to try new ideas and take calculated risks to increase our reach and impact. In taking risks nothing is defined as failure merely a learning experience. (I can attest to this last statement through my presidency year, it has been such a rich learning experience).
We are looking forward to welcoming Tilde Verhoeven and Monique Andjelic along with their parents to our club meeting this Wednesday. Both ladies attended National Youth Science Forum in January of this year through our sponsorship. Tilde and Monique will share their experiences.
Warm regards
President Helen Nodrum

EVANSTON, ILL,. April 5, 2022 – Rotary announced today that it has raised more than $7 million to support locally-led relief efforts underway by Rotary clubs in Ukraine and neighboring countries.
“The need for immediate humanitarian aid is increasing with each passing day,” said John Hewko, CEO of Rotary International. “Rotary clubs in Europe and around the world, including our 1,100 members in Ukraine, have stepped up their relief work, with some on the ground helping those displaced by the war.”
This evening on Wed 6 April 2022, our club had he pleasure of joining Inner Wheel in a joint meeting. It was to have been held at Woodlands Golf Club, but with Covid lending its heavy hand, our meeting was held over Zoom – our faithful friend during these past two years. Inner Wheel President Margo Colquhoun was our meeting convenor and Janeen Randle organized the meeting over Zoom.
