Edition 20 Monday, 15th March 2021

Message from our President

As our day to day lives return to what we consider “normal”, as Rotarians we need to expand our outreach and support. I believe we need to initiate the contacts within the community with an increased level of vibrancy.
There is a board meeting tonight which I’m sure will raise a number of important issues and propose some exciting projects going forward, I hope to be able to report back to you on this at tomorrow’s breakfast meeting.
Geoff Gledhill

Looking for a meaningful year-abroad experience, Ashley Holmer decided to teach in Tanzania. The former college soccer star coached and taught English in a Maasai community in 2005.
Water for Peace
The Supurunda Water Supply Project in Papua New Guinea has been a successful example of how Rotary is advancing peace and providing clean water and sanitation.
by Rotary Down Under
In 2018, eight villages inhabited by five cultural groups agreed to put aside past conflicts so they could enjoy the benefits of a safe, clean water supply. The resulting water system is now a common and enduring thread that, no matter what else happens, will unite them and will be protected by them for everyone to enjoy into the future.

A consistent day started with a morning rainbow. Many people found their pot of gold. 1311 people entered through the gates. A few no shows possibly due to wet and windy start to the morning. From 7am onwards it was a dry and pleasant day. 1 person in the queue. A great team effort all day.

Just a reminder to members, the above information regarding birthdays and anniversaries comes directly from each members information contained in the Club Runner (Rotary) database. As I have said before, it is up to each member to check, add or change information in their own profile. As editor, I do not enter this information into this bulletin. It is passed directly from the database.
