Message from our President

Well here we are again, anxiously awaiting a decision on ending this latest lockdown at the end of the week. We will need to await the exact terms surrounding its ending prior to planning for the market reopening, meeting schedule and upcoming change over dinners.
We have a board meeting tonight (Tuesday) where some scenarios will be played out and members advised at this weeks ZOOM meeting.
When we are allowed to function as normal, there is much to be done, plenty of people are suffering, particularly from a mental health perspective and financially. I think there is a need for each committee to consider the circumstances of people within their area of responsibility and reach out, let’s see what we uncover.
See you in the morning on Zoom at 7.30 although I know Ian kicks off the meeting at 7.15. Meeting details here.
Regards,
Geoff Gledhill

International Time Differences.....One of the Russian Ambassadors comes to President Putin and tells him he'd like to resign."Why?" Putin asks him."Ah, Mr. President, I can't take these time differences! I fly to another city, call home and everyone is asleep, I last woke you up at 4 in the morning, but I thought it was only evening, I call Angela Merkel to congratulate her on her birthday and she tells me she had it yesterday, I wish the Chinese President a happy New Year, and he says it will be tomorrow.""Well, these are just minor inconveniences," says Putin. "Do you remember when that Polish plane crashed, killing their president? I called them to express my condolences, but the plane hadn't yet taken off!
