What many people take for granted, but becomes a special enjoyable musical activity for patients at Calvary Bethlehem Hospital when they use the facilities in the Jacaranda Room.
The Jacaranda Room, which is at the entrance to the Hospital’s St. Theresa’s ward, is a place of welcome and enjoyment for those who participate in daily activities or relax inside having some refreshments.
The furniture has been donated following a series of fundraising activities by members of the Rotary Club of Bentleigh Moorabbin Central as well as some private donations from Club Members.
During Music Therapy Week the Jacaranda Room was used by Music Therapy staff to provide patients with some musical drumming opportunities as Musical Therapy staff played songs such as Bridge Over Troubled Water which was accompanied by patients playing drums.
These are just a couple of examples of how the Club’s support for Calvary Bethlehem turns a “donation for furniture” into musical opportunities for our patients who are getting close to the end of their life’s journey.
All at Calvary Health Care Bethlehem greatly appreciate the Club’s donation which makes some of our patients” life journeys” easier to travel,” said Calvary’s General Manager, Shannon Thompson.
“The support from our local Rotary Club makes a big difference to the lives of our patients, she said.
