Last week the Principals Australia Institute acknowledged Pitsa Binnion’s outstanding contribution to leading public education by presenting her with the John Laing Award.
The Victorian Association of State Secondary Principals (VASSP) nominated Pitsa for this prestigious award, in recognition not only of her leadership of the McKinnon Secondary College community, but also her substantial contribution to the improvement of the Victorian education system.
Pitsa supports many other principals as a member of the VASSP state-wide committee, frequently participates in other schools’ reviews and planning processes, is a mentor to many secondary principals, delivers professional learning to aspiring school leaders and is shaping the future of Victorian education as a member of the Strategic Council for the Bastow Institute of Educational Leadership.
McKinnon Secondary College is very fortunate to be led by Pitsa, and as a College we wholeheartedly congratulate her for being presented with the John Laing Award.
