This article is intended primarily for members of our Rotary Club.
Rotary International maintains a strict zero-tolerance policy against all forms of harassment, bullying, and abuse. The policy mandates that all club members and event participants have the right to a safe, welcoming environment free from unwelcome physical contact, advances, or verbal/physical conduct that denigrates or creates an intimidating atmosphere.
Key Policy Components
- Zero Tolerance: Rotary strictly forbids abuse, harassment, and bullying at any level—including meetings, activities, and virtual interactions.
- Harassment Defined: Harassment includes any physical or verbal conduct that insults, denigrates, or demeans a person based on their age, race, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
- Protection of Vulnerable Persons: Rotary applies particularly stringent guidelines to prevent the abuse of children and vulnerable adults, requiring background checks and safe environment training for relevant volunteers.
