Karin was chairperson for today’s club breakfast meeting held at The Deck, Bay Street, Brighton.  Tony conducted invocation and Kellie conducted the loyal toast.  Partners Ken Oakes and Gary Ramage joined the meeting.
CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS – President Ron B
  • Big Tennis Tournament, Beaumaris 29/10 – BMC is providing participants with a BBQ lunch from 11am – 2pm on the day.  Ron mentioned the names of club members who have volunteered to assist on the day.
  • Registration at BMC Bentleigh Market – Despite covid restrictions lifting - all volunteers need to continue to sign the attendance sheet in the market office when reporting for market duty.  This is a Glen Eira Council requirement as part of an emergency management process.
ROTARY REGIONALISATION PILOT PROGRAM  - President Ron
  • President Ron reminded everyone of email notifications being issued by the Regionalisation Pilot team to all club members  The most recent email was issued on 19 September outlining the next steps in the Regionalisation program – 1. Electing members to the Regional Council (candidates will be announced on 3 October for clubs to elect).  2. Announcement of upcoming Webinars – designed to provide Rotarians with information on the next stage of the pilot program –  i.e. clubs to provide feedback to the Regionalisation team and list their preferences of how they wish to be grouped within a Rotary Community Group based on member input.     President Ron will complete a questionnaire and submit to the Regionalisation team  on behalf of our club by 29 October 2023.     However, prior to submitting the questionnaire President Ron is seeking club member feedback for their preferences.     A survey will be issued to club members for completion and return for collating members’ preferences.

ROTARY ANNIVERSARIES
  • A special mention to Terry Kane for passing her 10 years Rotary Anniversary on 18/9.  Other anniversaries for this month were D.G. Ian Ballantine on 16/9 (26 years), Linda O’Brien on 18/9 (27 years), and Geoff Gartly on 19/9 (22 years).

  • A reminder to everyone, Sunday’s market day on 1 October will be on daylight savings time.

  • Hadi Saag, Mayor of City of Kingston, will be our guest speaker for our next club meeting on Wed 4 October at Cilantro.
