Ron Brownlees chaired today's club meeting at Cilantro. Guests Kerrie and Gary joined the meeting, with Charles joining in a little later via Zoom. Unfortunately, our planned guest speaker from Emerge was unable to attend, however, this provided a great opportunity for PDG Ian Ballantine to demonstrate how to use My Rotary - a training session for new members and a refresher for our existing club members in one!
We also inducted our newest member, Jules Gaddie.
PRESIDENT REPORT - Tim Lynch
In recognition of Mother's Day Tim presented all the ladies present at the meeting with a chocolate heart - a lovely gesture. Thank you Tim.
Tim thanked Linda for presenting the proposal for investing with Equity Trustees at last week's meeting, and reminded club members the member vote will take place at the club meeting on Wednesday 21 May 2025.
President Tim had the very pleasant duty of inducting our newest club member, Jules Gaddie. Welcome aboard Jules!
MY ROTARY / CLUB WEBSITE - PDG Ian Ballantine
Ian demonstrated the RI Website and how to login to My Rotary. Ian briefly touched on and explained the various areas displayed on the Home Page adding My Rotary is a very underutilized resource for training and expanding one's Rotary knowledge. My Rotary has a learning centre that is particularly useful for new members and members undertaking leadership roles - however, it is a great resource of information for everyone and Ian recommends all members to check it out.
My Rotary is also the area for updating club data and member data where members update their contact details. It is everyone's responsibility to ensure their details are current.
Ian is available for assistance for anyone having an issue with logging in to My Rotary and/or the Club Website.

CLUB ANNOUNCEMENTS
Rosters: the rosters for the market and next week's club meeting were announced.
Next Week's Club Meeting - Wednesday 21 May 2025: - This meeting will include the member vote for investing with Equity Trustees. Tim reminded club members who have any queries to submit their query addressed to the board and emailed to the Club Secretary.
A quorum of 14 people (representing 1/3 of the club) will need to attend, either in person or via Zoom or by proxy (Ed), for the vote to take place.
Club Evening Meeting - Thursday 29 May 2025: the meal will be a Cordon Bleu dinner at $55 per person. This will be an informal club meeting that includes a presentation by Ian following the recent trip to Fiji to check on Rotary projects and potential new Rotary projects; and including the visit to Lautoka Hospital for a potential future Interplast event. This is an ideal opportunity to invite guests and new potential members.
MEETING CLOSE: President Tim closed the meeting.
