Guest Speaker: Our very own Faye Weeks. Faye gave a background of Inner Wheel.
Inner Wheel was established 98 years ago when women were not permitted to join Rotary. The wives of Rotarians gathered for afternoon teas which became the beginnings of Inner wheel.
Inner Wheel Bayside, is organising an Art Auction and Social Evening on Friday 18 February 2022. ( details under events in the Bulletin).
Faye gave an amusing anecdote on how the Art Auction came about. The proceeds of the evening will go to support “Free Hands” which is a non-profit organisation making 3D limbs to fit anyone without limbs. Peg Gill from Inner Wheel has produced a catalogue of the paintings which are to be auctioned. All members are encouraged to support this event.
President Helen welcomed the visitors and gave an update of upcoming events in which the club will be involved.

Members who had birthdays in January were fined. They are MIchael Bury, Roy Kaplan and Peter Nolan.
Absentees at the End of year breakup and the last meeting of 2021 were also fined. They include Michael Bury, Paul Ferguson, Tony Grusd, Tim Moran, Geoff Gledhill, Glenda Stahel, and Julie Reid.
Members born in England were fined for the English team’s abysmal performance in the Australian Ashes series.
Tony Ryan was fined for sending Leonie  “out to work” as there is a reporter in Channel 7 called Leonie Ryan.
Glenda imposed a “self fine” for having no glasses so she was unable to fine the mute button on her computer!
There will be no meeting next week which is Australia Day Jan 26.
