Julie chaired this morning's meeting in her usual efficient manner. Guests included Daniela, Rajan, and Gary. Ron almost fooled everyone when he mentioned that during a recent Rotary cluster group meeting the hierarchy of Rotary had decided to merge clubs, and that BMC was to merge with Mordialloc! - It was April Fools Day afterall.

President Grant recently attended a community groups meeting with the City of Kingston that included discussion on the following: The Bayside Doggy Day on 26/4/26, Over 55's programs, a Survey and Gambling.
Larry wished everyone a Happy Easter, and announced today was the first day of the Jewish Passover.
GUEST SPEAKERS - PHYSIOTHERAPY - John Humphrey and Will Cohen
John and Will are physiotherapists who operate out of North Road and Bluff Road Physiotherapy that was established in 1995 specialising in providing managed healthcare recovery programs following injury and general healthcare for ongoing wellbeing. They stressed the importance of maintaining good health to prevent future issues resulting from falls. Facts and figures were provided that included falls as one of the top ten causes that lead to end of life, and that one in three people over the age of 65 fall at least once a year. Issues affecting health as we age are balance, frailty, muscle loss, bone loss, and disease. Balance is crucial and is affected by vision, hearing, and cognitive/mental response. They spoke of ways to overcome and minimise these issues that included diet and regular exercise that is targeted to strengthen muscles and improve bone structure. It was a very informative session that had everyone engaged. Thank you John and Will who were both happy to be presented with a club cheeseboard.
ROSTERS
The rosters were announced.
Larry mentions the issue with market stall bookings on the Try Bookings system has been fixed, and that stalls could be booked for the next four weeks. He asked that members rostered for the day keep an eye on regulars who are not attending the market.
NEXT WEEK'S CLUB MEETING
Cilantro is closed during the school holidays over the next two weeks. Next week's club meeting on Wednesday 8 May 2026 will be held at Beaus in 353 Centre Road, Bentleigh at the usual breakfast time - 7am for 7.10am.
