23 club members and partners braved the cold weather on Thursday evening and pooled in the mess room of the Moorabbin Air Museum at Moorabbin Airport where everyone was treated to a beautifully prepared array of roast chicken and salads, together with sausages and meatballs, cheese, biscuits, fruit, and chocolates. Ewan McArthur, the general manager of the museum, followed with a presentation and tour of the museum that was founded in 1962 and which is operated by a dedicated group of volunteers and members. Lots more pics.....
In addition to the informative tour Ewan entertained everyone with some personal snippets of information - well known people who had visited and the comments made. The museum is open to the public and as with many that are run by volunteers, funding is always a challenge. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed Ewan's tour and presentation.
The tour finished with a presentation of a club donation for the museum by President Grant on behalf of the Rotary Club of Bentleigh Moorabbin Central.
Special thanks to Paul Ferguson for arranging the visit, and many thanks to Linda for the lovely meal in a simple setting.
